Russian Baltic Fleet is going to take part in the International Maritime Defence Show IMDS 2009

Russian Baltic Fleet is going to take part in the International Maritime Defence Show IMDS 2009 which will be presented in June of this year in St.-Petersburg, Russia.

It is planned, that experts and visitors of IMDS-2009 can see the advanced fighting ships - a patrol ship Yaroslav Mudry which building is finished recently at Baltic ship-building factory Yantar in Kaliningrad and littoral combat ship Stereguschiy, constructed on Northern shipyard. These ships had become head in a new type and series of the combat shipbuilding in Russia.

Demonstration of a rocket boat Morshansk, intended for destruction of the fighting ships, transports and landing boats of the enemy in a coastal zone and in deep sea, and also the hovercraft of type Bison is planned as well.

International Maritime Defence Show IMDS-2009

Under the Russian Federation Government's order, the 4-th International Maritime Defence Show IMDS-2009 is going to be arranged in St.-Petersburg from June 24 up to June 28, 2009.

The organizer of IMDS-2009 is the Federal Industry Agency. As well IMDS is held under patronage of Maritime Collegiums of the Russian Government and is supported by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation and Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, Defence Ministry of Russian Federation, Government of St.Petersburg and Rosoboronexport State Corporation.

Such leading enterprises will be participated as FGUP Rosoboronexport, OJSC United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), FSUE CSRT Elektropribor, FSUE Krylov Shipbuilding Research Institute, Naval Academy, Naval Research Institute, Russian NAVY and others.

The Organizer and participants of the IMDS are going to combine the holding of international exhibition, scientific conferences, attendance of the enterprises of military-industrial complex and major demonstrations of naval technologies and fair public show.

The high level and the significant results of the previous Shows placed it among the leading naval exhibitions in the world and make it comparable to IDEX-2009, held in Abu-Dhabi this year.

The exhibition profile fully covers all the fields of shipbuilding and naval weapons design and includes: Naval & Commercial Shipbuilding, Weapons, Armaments, Integrated Complexes & Fire Control Systems, Combat Control Systems, Communications, Radio-Electronics, Radars & Sonars, Marine Power Plants, Hull Systems, Gears & Auxiliary Machinery, Naval Aviation (Deck & Shore-Based), Navigation, Hydrographical & Hydro-Meteorological Services & Hardware, Navy coastal forces arming, High-speed and small-size vessels, boats, yachts for supporting and commercial purposes, Logistics infrastructure, Harbor and hydraulic engineering, Navigation security, Search & Rescue equipment, Personnel Training and many others significant profiles.

St. Petersburg is well known as a previous capital of Russia and a cradle of the Russian Navy.

As usually the exhibition complex is located at the Harbor of St.Petersburg at the quays of the Gulf of Finland; this location provides the exhibitors with a unique possibility to display their production and enjoy the magnificent views of St. Petersburg, yachts and speed boats being moored along Neva river an Gulf waters - summary all the features differs IMDS-2009 favorably from the great maritime world shows.

The main goal of the IMDS-2009 Show is to support the business cooperation and arrange the international maritime science and creation contacts.

New designed ships, submarines, aircrafts and fast boats of the Russian Navy, Coast Guard of the Russian Federation and other enterprises are planned to be presented. Russkie Vityazi and Strizhy - Russian Air Force and Air Defence aerobatic teams - will demonstrate their flying skills in the sky over the city.

A broad firing demonstrations of naval artillery such as AK-192, AK-190, AK-130, AK-630M and others will be offered to the members of official delegations and Media representatives in vicinity of St. Petersburg.

Scientific international maritime conferences, such as Tenth International conference MORINTECH-PRACTIC Information Technologies in Shipbuilding-2009, seminars and round-table discussions will be arranged as well.

Hundreds Russian and foreign reporters will be expected to highlight the Show. The accreditation of Media representatives will be performed by the regional office of ITAR-TASS in St.Petersburg.

The previous one 3-rd International Maritime Defence Show IMDS-2007 was held with a great success in St.Petersburg in 2007: 352 companies, including 37 foreign ones participated, pavilions of exposition occupied more then 12000 q.m.
