[ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Notes: These tanks were modified to accept ПСТ-У (PST-U) or ПСТ-54 (PST-54) flotation pontoons for river/sea crossing. The steel pontoons weighed 10 tonnes, and provided the T-54 with 40% reserve buoyancy. They were powered by two propellors which took power off from tank driving wheels. Range was 60-80 kilometers at 12 km/h in the water and the pontoons contained their own 500 liter fuel tanks so that fuel on board the tank was not spent.
In 1965, new aluminum pontoons were accepted into service under ПСТ-63 (PST-63) which weighed only 5.5 tonnes. PST-63M and PST-64 pontoons were developed to allow flotation of T-55s and T-62s.
ZSU-57-2s that were modified to use PST pontoons were Object 510.

During the long production run of the T-55A, various incremental improvements were done. In 1970, a DShK-M AAMG was given to the loader to defeat NATO anti-tank helicopters; while in 1974, the KVD-1 laser rangefinder was fitted.
