Yes, there are 10531 and 10686. After their operational use, both were transfered to the 200th  Air Base at Bihac.

The first one 531, is 528447 served with JRV since July 1953, while the second one 686 is 523192, received from Hellenic AF in 1960.

Just one question about this aircraft if you don't mind.

According to this data the aircraft was first transfered to MDAP and then stricken of charge from USAF. Is this info correct, or you made a typo ?

I'm asking because to me it seems more logical for aircraft to be first stricken of charge by USAF and then transferred to MDAP. On the other hand, these are military matters, who says they have to be logical, right ?   Grin

Hello Marko

You are right, these military matters are not always logical.
1. there is a administrative date for the a/c, being d/d and s/o/s, and transferred on paper to MDAP
2. there is a fysical date, when an aircraft is delivered
These sometimes conflict to another, and administration in those days was not so accurate...
I strickly keep the data I find on aircraft record cards, even if they seem unlogical.

And yes, somtimes F-84G were already transferred (fysical) to MDAP and had to be corrected (s/o/s) in the USAF records..

Hello Paul,

thank you for your reply. Now things are much more clear. It's interesting that just few months ago we discussed on this forum how in some cases it took JRV months, even years for some aircraft to be written off after the accident.
Some of the other aircraft were simply "forgotten".  Roll Eyes

Bureaucracy. Looks like it works the same way no matter where it's located...   Grin

Looking at some USAF records, I notice on the JRV F-84G this;

The list of cumulative delivered aircraft shows a -1 status for 1.10.55-31.12.55
This means, that a JRV F-84G was returned to the USAF. Strange...
1. does anybody have the s/n of this aircraft?
2. what was the reason of returning?
3. where was it returned to? (Chateauroux?)

One of the delivered aircraft was turned into a training static aircraft for ground crews in a jet aircraft conversion unit on Batajnica airfield. Maby it is why they shoved it like this?

I don't think so, as usually, a "-1" in these records show a transfer/return to the USAF.
Further, when an aircraft becomes a GIA (ground instruction airframe), it is still in the posession of the JRV, from the USAF (records) point of view.

Do you have the s/n of that F_84G, the date it became a GIA and the conversion unit, name or number?

Unfortunately I`dont have its s/n. Unit was Centar za preobuku na mlazne avione ( Center for conversion on jet aircrafts), there was no numbers or other names for it.

When Trieste crisis emerged JRV had 54 F-84G and 11 T-33A delivered. In Centar vas 20 F-84G, 1 F-84G as GIA and 9 T-33A. In 117 LAP ( Figter aviation regiment) 20 F-84G, in 204 LAP 12 F-84G and in 198 AP 2 T-33A. There was also 1 F-84G in VOC ( Vazduhoplovni Opitni Centar - Aeronautical Test centre).

This F-84G was photograhed (when?) near Novi Sad
It is not present there anymore. It is a former 10563.

1. when was it placed (and where exact)
2. when was it removed

An interesting document. An example of the actual document of transfer of a F-84G from the RNLAF via the USAF to the JRV.

Pilot's name looks like Z. Bogjic, and interesting destination, named Belgrad Air Base...

I hope other members of this forum are (more) willing to share (archive) information with us all. I am sure there are more paluba members who have similar info on (JRV) Thunderjets. Thus, both seed and share please...
