Nekoliko fotografija nesuđenog lovca, a znatno boljeg bombardera. Nastao iz programa TFX iz ranih 60-ih, F-111 je bio prvi operativni avion sa promjenljivom strelom krila. Decenijama je pokrivao uloge lovca-bombardera, bombardera, izviđača i aviona za elektronsko ratovanje.

General Dynamics i Grumman su zajednički razvijali verziju F-111B, palubni lovački avion. Prototip je napravljen, vršena su i ispitivanja tokom 1968. godine i na kraju se od aviona odustalo. Oružni sistem F-111B (radar AWG-9 i raketa Feniks) su kasnije upotrebljeni na F-14.

Osim Amerikanaca, još je samo Australija koristila avione F-111, i to verziju F-111C koja je posebno razvijena za njih. Kasnije su nabavili i nešto aviona Verzije F-111G.
