Mislio sam da postoji osnovni tekst o Lockheed F-104. pa sam hteo da dopunim sa jednim eksperimentalnim modelom. Neka sada bude ovako, a posle ćemo već napraviti celi članak ovog aviona, koji je obeležio jednu epohu razvoja lovačke avijacije.

Tragom ovog natpisa:

F-104CCV (control configured vehicle) 23+91 sa kanard kontrolisanim površinama.

Prvi veštački stabilizovani, eksperimentalni avion F-104CCV, poleteo je 20.novembra 1980. u Manching (SRN) u okviru programa firme „Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB)”, a na zahtev “Bundesministerium der Verteidigung” (German Federal Ministry of Defense).
To je bilo prvo poletanja u tzv E1 konfiguraciji, odnosno destabilizacije konfiguracija „patka krilo“ je montiran na trupu iza kabine.
Promene učinjene na F-104G Starfighter iskorištene su za testiranje kontrole leta CCV (Control Configured Vehicle).

Zbog ispitivanja eksperimentalnog programa prirodna stabilnost aviona bila je neutralizovana.
Paralelno sa eksperimentima nastavljena je proizvodnja „normalne“ konfiguracije F-104, ipak sa očekivanjem, moguće primene u daljoj proizvodnji.
I ako je digitalizacija bila još daleko od masovne primene, "fly-by-wire" je već bio primenjivan na avionima nove generacije (F-16) pa je ovo bila neka alternativa, dakle zadržavanje aerodinamičkog rešenja „nestabilnosti“.

Sposobnost da se veštački izazove stabilna (kontrolisana) nestabilnost – ili upravljanje nestabilnom konfiguracijom aviona bio je preduslov za izradu novih vojnih i komercijalnih aviona, naredne  generacija i tada se smatralo da je to ključno područje u primeni novih tehnologija.
Tehnologija koja se koristi za CCV programa bila je polazna tačka za projektovanje i razvoj sistema kontrole leta na EFA - Eurofighter.

Kontrola leta u konfiguraciji CCV ostao je eksperimentalan, a kasnije se uz određene modifikacije primenjivao i na nekim drugim vazduhoplovima.

Još nekoliko rečenica o ovom F-104G, koji je korišten u okviru programa F-104CCV:

Proizveden 11.jula 1963. po licenci u firmi Fokker pod brojem 683-10-19, a po vojnoj evidenciji KG+200 predat vazduhoplovstvu, kao lovac za sve vremenske uslove 23.avgusta 1963.
Do 14.aprila 1975. imao je 1.379 časova naleta. Preregistrovan je 4.decembra 1978 (po nekim podacima 27.septembra 1976.) u 98+36 i sa tim oznakom je leteo je do kraja trajanja projekta.
Celokupan projekat imao je tri faze i okončan je zadnjim letom 6.juna 1984 (po drugim podacima 17.aprila 1984.godine) a potom je 6.oktobra iste godine, avion premešten u “Wehrtechnisches Museum” u Koblenz, gde se i danas nalazi
