C/n explanation (Ka-28 was built by KumAPP at Kumertau-Vorotynovka)
The c/n is explained as follows: it starts with 523 (which is possibly a ‘worked-around’ factory number), followed by the product (izdeliye) code, the quarter and year of production and the five-digit “nonsense” computer number.

Note; the known manufacture dates clearly show there are two construction numbers series (numbers ending lower than 40000 as last five digits and a series with the last five numbers higher 40000) built at the same time. This possibly has to do with structural differences between the various sub-versions.

Адлере можеш ли нам рећи нешто више о употреби КА-28 као AWACS-a у доба СРЈ. О томе је причао овај летач на снимку који си поставио.
