Po nekima, ovi persijski "mačci" odavno ne bi trebalo da lete ali, kao što vidimo, znatan broj aviona je i dalje operativan...

Pa to znatan broj baš i nije pouzdana informacija. Procene se kreću od 3 do 40 komada u letnom stanju. pravu informaciju je teško saznati.

Jedini, prema američkim podacima, "mačak" izgubljen u borbi je bio "Slager", iz sastava VF-103 sa nosača Saratoga. Tomket je bio u pratnji Intrudera i Praulera koji su krenuli u napad na aerodrom Al Asad nedaleko od Bagdada. U tri sata ujutru, 22. januara 1991. godine, pogođen je raketom sistema S-75 Dvina/Volhov i oboren. Pilot, por. Devon Džouns, i RIO, por. Lorens Slejd su se spasili katapultiranjem. Džouns je nakon osam sati skrivanja spašen dok je Slejd pao u zarobljeništvo.
