Nepravedno zapostavljen avion na “Palubi“. Pokušaću da otvorim temu o njemu sa par rečenica. Posle, nadam se, biće više podataka i činjenica .

Avion je izveden iz varijante M-10 game lakih aviona Jugoslovensko-Poljske saradnje pod rukovodstvom D. Dimića. Napravljena su dva prototipa za ispitivanje. Jedan je bio sa upuštenim zakovicama koje se nisu pokazale aerodinamički opravdane pa je u serijsku proizvodnju ušao drugi tip, sa normalnim zakovicama. Prvi let prototipa je izveden 19. Maja 1976. godine.  

U serijsku proizvodnju je ušao 1977 godine. Proizvedeno je ukupno 136 komada ove letelice namenjene za osnovnu obuku pilota i šlep jedrilica. U RV je korišten osim za osnovnu obuku još i za početnu obuku pilota u gađanju, raketiranju i bombardovanju. Za tu namenu ima projektovane dve linije za kačenje naoružanja maksimalne težine 2x150 kg.  

Varijante su sledeće:

  Bombe: 2x100 kg. Ili 4x50 kg.
  Dva saćasta lansera za nevođena raketna zrna 57 mm.
  Alternativno je moguće podkačiti kontejnere sa mitraljezima.
 
  Pretpostavljene zemlje korisnici su:
  Srbija                                10 do 15 komada
  Crna Gora                            3
  Bosna i Hercegovina              2
  Slovenija                            12
  Hrvatska                            11    ( od 2007 zamenjene Zlinovima)
  Sudan                                 6


Bilo je pokušaja da se uglavnom za strano tržište razvije četvoroseda verzija  oznake Utva 75 A ali poduhvat nije uspeo. Razmišljalo se i o verziji Poljoprivrednog aviona oznake 75 AG.

Navodno, glavni problem tog aviona bio je raspored sedenja u paralelnom poretku, što navodno nije dobro za obuku borbenih pilota za koje je poželjno da sede napred centralno sa instruktorskim sedištem iza tzv. tandem raspored kao kod Laste 95.

Takođe neki navode da je postojao i problem sa uglom za bočno prevlačenje (tzv. ulaženje u kovit) koji nije dozvoljavao izvođenje zaokreta pod oštrijim napadnim uglovima i da je ukupna upravljivost i mogućnost izvođenja osnovnih akrobacija u obuci time bila dosta limitirana.
