Taktičko tehnički podaci:
-Dužina aviona: 11,07m
-Razmak krila: 13,87m
-težina praznog aviona: 1900 kg
-poletna težina: 3500 kg
-snaga motora: 750 ks
-maksimalna brzina krstarenja: 210 km/h
-maksimalna brzina na nivou mora: 227 km/h
-maksimalna brzina na 2 200 m: 248 km/h
-naoružanje: 1 topedo;
                  2 mitraljeza
Ovaj avion, britanske proizvodnje, je bio jednomotorni dvokrilac i imao je dva ili tri člana posade. Usao je u serijsku proizvodnju 1935. godine a proizvodio ga Fairey. Imao je motor sa devet cilindara.
Swordfish je bio najstariji i najsporiji torpedni čamac u II svetskom ratu ali ipak je postigao značajne uspehe. Napadao je nemačke ratne i trgovačke brodove u kanalu Lamansh, a mozda najveći uspeh je napad na Italijansku ratnu luku Talanto noći izmedju 11. i 12. novembra 1940. godine. Te noći poletelo je 17 aviona sa noisača aviona Illustrious i uspeli su da potope jedan bojni brod, jednu krstaricu i dva razarača. Ta pobeda je obezbedila, za neko vreme, britansku prevlast na Sredozemnom moru.

Swordfish I

Prikazani avion je u standardnoj kamuflaži Zračnih snaga flote, na osnovi "sheme za more u zonama umjerene klime".

Uobičajena praksa za kodnu identifikaciju u Zračnim snagama flote bila je za avione koji su djelovali s brodova koristiti samo jedno slovo, za avione koji su djelovali s nosača aviona slovo i broj, broj i drugo slovo za avione koji su djelovali iz obalnig baza.

Ova fotografija aviona iz ptičje perspektive pokazuje četvrtaste noseće površine ovog tipa i otvorenu kabinu sa tri člana posade. U Kanadi je korišten "Swordfish IV" sa zatvorenom pilotskom kabinom.
