Ova kuća mi se nikako ne uklapa u gradsku luku?? Ako je slikano sa istočne strane (želj. stanica), a u pozadini se kao vidi Mornareva lućica i dio Sustipana??

Jedna od zanimljivosti ove posjete je sljedeća a vezana je uz brod "ACHILLE LAURO" ;

Događaj koji će obilježiti najpoznatije stradanje broda ACHILLE LAURO počeo se zbivati 7.listopada 1985.godine u Egiptu. Nakon što je toga dana na redovitom kružnom putovanju iskrcao oko 700 putnika u Aleksandriji na razgled piramida u Gizi brod je sa preostalih 400 putnika i članova posade nastavio plovidbu za Port Said gdje su se izletnici ponovo trebali ukrcati. Ubacivši se neopaženo na brod, petorica Palestinaca, članova Arafatova PLO-a pod vodstvom Abu Abbasa, preoteli su ACHILLE LAURO  i zaprijetili njegovim uništenjem ako se iz zatvora u Izraelu ne oslobodi 50 njihovih suboraca. Bila je to prva otmica putničkog broda u povijesti pomorstva. Brod je doplovio u Siriju koja ne dozvoljava sidrenje u svojim teritorijalnim vodama, a kada je to isto učinio i Cipar, ACHILLE LAURO se je ponovo vratio u Port Said. Da bi dokazali da doista misle ozbiljno, otmičari su ubili i u more u invalidskim kolicima bacili 69-godišnjeg američkog Židova Leona Klinghoffera na očigled supruge Marilyn kojima je ovo putovanje bilo posvećeno godišnjici vjenčanja. Kada je egipatska vlada nakon dugotrajnih pregovora udovoljila zahtjevima otmičara, oni su 10.listopada sa broda prebačeni na jedan remorker s kojim su učinili trijumfalni krug u luci Port Saida. Pobjedonosno su se ukrcali u Boeing 737 kompanije Egypt Air i poletjeli po svim dostupnim izvorima prema Tunisu. Ipak najvjerovatnije prema Zagrebu jer je zračna luka Pleso u to doba po Titovoj odluci bila mjesto svih razmjena PLO-ovih talaca. Tito je naime bio Arafatov zaštitnik, svim svojim je sredstvima podržavao njegovu ( pa i terorističku ) borbu za neovisnost Palestine a dugo ga je vremena skrivao u svojoj vili u Kuparima. Međutim, slavlje otmičara nije dugo trajalo jer su četiri američka lovca F-14 Tomcat sa nosača SARATOGA po nalogu predsjednika Reagana presrela zrakoplov i prisilili ga sletjeti u Cataniju na Siciliji. Otmičari su uhvaćeni a SAD su od Italije zbog brutalnog ubojstva američkog građanina tražili njihovo izručenje. Na to Italija nije pristala tumačeći da je kažnjivo djelo učinjeno na talijanskome brodu kao dijelu talijanskog državnog suvereniteta. Neočekivano, zbog proceduralnih razloga, Talijani su oslobodili otmičare. To je prouzročilo krizu međudržavnih odnosa izmedju SAD i Italije te duboku krizu talijanske vlade nakon koje je premijer Bettino Craxi morao podnijeti ostavku. Egipatski predsjednik Hosni Mubarak je odlikovao pilota egipatskog Boeinga 737 zahtijevajući američku ispriku. Jaser Arafat, pozvan da govori u generalnoj skupštini UN prigodom njene 40. obljetnice, nazvao je američku akciju piratskim aktom.  Kasnije je jedan talijanski sud osudio trojicu otmičara na kazne zatvora od 15 do 30 godina a Abbasa u odsutnosti na doživotni zatvor, jer je prvima priznao patriotske motive a Abbasu je osuda protumačena kao samovoljni politički akt sa ciljem slabljenja utjecaja Jasera Arafata. Abu Abbas je uhićen ponovo tek 2003.godine u Iraku za vrijeme angloameričkog napada na režim Sadama Huseina, a 2004. misteriozno umire u američkome zatvoru. Ali jedna druga kriza, koju je ovaj događaj prouzročio nama je bila daleko zanimljivija. Naime, nosač zrakoplova SARATOGA je u vrijeme otmice bio u plovidbi prema Dubrovniku, kada je dobio nalog da njegovi avioni presretnu egipatski Boeing 737. Zato je i zakasnio u Dubrovnik, kamo je plovio u prijateljsku posjetu. Međutim, jugoslavenska Vlada je uputila protest zbog njegova uplovljenja jer je međudržavnim sporazumom bilo predviđeno da ratni brodovi Sjedinjenih Država ne mogu doći u prijateljski posjet ako su prethodno sudjelovali u nekoj ratnoj operaciji. Za tadašnju jugoslavensku službenu politiku, bilo kakav napad na PLO Jasera Arafata značilo je ratnu operaciju. Ali, Amerikanci se na to nisu puno obazirali, već su doplovili do sidrišta pred Lokrumom i tu ostali do planiranog dana odlaska. Usput je posada prateće krstarice na vezu u Gružu ugasila i jedan požar na Strinčijeri, zaivši dubrovačko pučanstvo svojom vrhunskom protivpožarnom tehnikom i besprijekornom obukom.

Achille Lauro

On 7 October 1985 the Achille Lauro, an Italian luxury liner with some 100 mostly elderly passengers on board, was hijacked in Egyptian waters by terrorists representing the Palestine Liberation Front (PLF). The ship's captain was ordered to sail for Tartus, Syria. That night, the hijackers informed Egyptian authorities of their action by radio and stated their demand for release of 50 Palestinian prisoners held by Israel. The next day, after being denied docking rights at Tartus by Syrian authorities, the terrorists decided to kill one of their hostages to prove their determination. Pushing the elderly, wheelchair-bound, Jewish-American passenger Leon Klinghoffer to the side of the ship, the leader of the terrorists shot him in the head and chest and then threw his body overboard. The Syrians still continued to deny the ship docking rights, but before a second passenger could be killed, the terrorists received a radio message from PLF leaders directing them to leave the passengers unmolested and to head to Port Said, Egypt. Once there, the Egyptian government, unaware that Klinghoffer had been murdered, provided the hijackers with safe passage in exchange for freeing the ship and its passengers.

Once the murder had been dis-covered, the U.S. Ambassador to Egypt demanded that the Egyptian government prosecute the terrorists. The Egyptians, however, reported that it was too late, since the hijackers had already left the country. Through clever intelligence work, the National Security Council staff determined that the terrorists were still in Egypt and were about to be flown to Tunisia on an Egypt Air 737 airliner. They reasoned that, with a lot of luck, the United States might be able to intercept the plane before it reached its destination. Saratoga (CV 60), with Commander Task Force (CTF) 60 on board, was steaming northward through the Adriatic Sea toward a port call at Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia, on the afternoon of 10 October, following completion of a major North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) exercise in the central Mediterranean.

Suddenly, the carrier received orders from Sixth Fleet headquarters to reverse course and to launch the alert combat air patrol. Despite the ship's "Alert 60" status, two F-14A Tomcats and an E-2C Hawkeye were airborne within 22 minutes. Apprised of the emerging situation by Sixth Fleet, Rear Admiral David Jeremiah, CTF 60, immediately alerted his staff that Saratoga was going after the hijackers, even though the plane's exact takeoff time from Egypt, the route it was flying to Tunisia and its altitude were unknown.

The plan called for Saratoga's planes to make night intercepts and identifications of air contacts on the airways crisscrossing the central Mediterranean as they flew eastward toward a common airway intersection point south of Crete. On the fourth interception of the night, following two hair-raising, lights-out intercepts of darkened transport planes, the F-14s hit pay dirt. At about 2230, 30 miles southeast of Crete, they closed on an Egyptian 737 airliner showing the tail number 2843-the aircraft they were looking for. After identifying themselves to the airliner's pilot, the American planes eventually were able to convince the 737 to land at the NATO base in Sigonella, Sicily. Upon landing, the airliner was quickly surrounded by American soldiers. The terrorists ultimately were taken into Italian custody.
