Zbog posledica svetske finansijske krize, i radi smanjenja budžetskog opterećenja, koje izaziva gradnja nosača aviona, Britanska vlada je odlučila da odloži porinuće i prijem u službu nosača aviona klase "Queen Elizabeth" za jednu do dve godine. Od njihove gradnje direktno zavisi oko 10,000 radnih mesta u brodogradilištima i u kooperantskim firmama, pa gradnja neće biti u potpunosti obustavljena, već samo usporena.

"I have also instituted a review, to be led by Bernard Gray, to examine progress with implementing reforms through the MOD’s Acquisition Change Programme and make any further recommendations to secure better value for money in the delivery of major acquisition programmes.

"Any further significant changes to the equipment programme will be announced following the conclusion of the MOD’s current planning round in March. While that work continues, I intend to control new commitments carefully to ensure we do not restrict our flexibility unnecessarily, though this will not be allowed to hold up support to current operations or our other highest priorities."

The Royal Navy has started construction of the HMS Queen Elizabeth - the first of the fleet's new Queen Elizabeth-class of aircraft carriers - at BVT Surface Fleet's shipyard in Govan, Scotland.

The aircraft carriers, along with the Joint Strike Fighter aircraft and new Type 45 destroyers, will form a significant part of Britain's future ability to jointly project airpower worldwide from land or sea.

The Minister of State for Defence Equipment and Support Quentin Davies said that the long service life of these ships will help the UK deal with the uncertainties of naval warfare in the future and will support deployed forces across the globe.

The three major lower blocks of the ship will be built at the Portsmouth and Rosyth dockyards in the UK and the rest will be done at the Appledore shipyards in Devon.

The fabricated blocks will be transported to the Rosyth dockyard where they will be joined together to form the hull of the ship.

The manufacturing contract for the ships was signed in July 2008 with £700m-worth of sub-contracts placed for the equipment and furnishings for weapons systems and ship interiors.

Rols-Rojs, vodeća kompanija u oblasti pogona, izradila je prvi propeler i prvu gasnu turbinu koje će biti ugradjene u nove britanske nosače aviona klase Queen Elisabeth.

Propeler, prečnika skoro 7 m, mase 33 t, prošao je ispitivanja u Rols-Rojsovom pogonu u Kristinehamnu, u Švedskoj. Za izradu propelera korišćena je nikl aluminijum bronza i sastoji se od 5 zakretnih krilaca.

Prva od četiri gasnih turbina koliko ukupno treba isporučiti za ugradnju na dva nosača aviona (Queen Elisabeth i Prince of Wales) prošla je testiranje u pogonu u Bristolu. Gasna turbina MT30 ima maksimalnu snagu od 36 MW.

Kako javlja BAE Systems, prve sekcije budućeg nosača aviona HMS "Queen Elisabeth" su počele da se sklapaju u brodogradilištu Govan, u Glazgovu. Prve dve sekcije srednjeg dela trupa, koje će zajedno činiti blok mase 9300 t, dužine 63 metra, visine 23 m, i širine 40 m, će biti spojene u Govanu, pre premeštanja u suvi dok u Rosythu, gde će biti obavljena finalizacija broda.

Radnici kompanije Rolls Royce je uspešno završilo ugradnju prve gasne turbine tipa MT30 u britanski nosač aviona HMS Queen Elizabeth. MT30 je gasna turbina snage 36 MW (oko 50 000 KS) i trenutno je najsnažnija brodska turbina na svetu. Nosač će imati dve ovakve turbine koje će obezbedjivati dve trećine snaage potrebne za pokretanje broda deplasmana 65 000 t. Ostatak, do 110 MW obezbedjuje 4 dizel generatora.

Na osnovu postavljene slike ne može se zaključiti kolike su dimenzije tog ''čudovišta'' od turbine.

Kao nekakva referenca mogu poslužiti sklopivi kotačići,ali mi se turbina čini premala onda.....

cini ti se, turbina od mig 21 je 40000 ks bez forsaž komore i jedva je 3 metra u dužini, ova uopće nije velika

Ako uzmemo potisak Tumanskog od 55kN, motor statičan, MSA uvjeti,razvija oko 22000 KS. Pri drugom stupnju forsaža, koji je ograničen na 3 min., motor statičan, MSA uvjeti, razvija oko 40000 KS.
Vrijednosti su približne, ali taj red veličina je u igri.

govoriš li o tumanskom koji je ugrađivan u MIG?
jer je na opisu pisalo 40000 ks ,s forsaž komorom 65000
