Pomalo stupidna situacija! Čovek nosi zaštitnu masku a pas ne? Nemački ovčar je otporan na BoT ili suzavac dok će se čuvaru slošiti. Sami sebi skočili u stomak.

Zanimljiva sudbina raketnog sistema PVO Electric Thunderbird u oružanim snagama Finske10 godina nakon završetka Drugog svetskog rata, finskom vojno-političkom vrhu postalo je jasno da je nemoguće zaštititi glavni region od vazdušnih udara samo protivavionskim topovima. Međutim, 1950-ih Finska nije imala finansijska sredstva potrebna za nabavku modernog oružja. Takva prilika se pojavila sredinom 1960-ih, a istovremeno sa nabavkom mlaznih presretača, počela je potraga za sistemom protivvazduhoplovne odbrane koji bi mogao da se bori protiv bombardera van linije vida i prilagođen za dugotrajno borbeno dežurstvo.U određenom trenutku, finska vojska je bila zainteresovana za britanski sistem protivvazduhoplovne odbrane srednjeg dometa Thunderbird. Kompleks, koji je ušao u upotrebu 1958. godine, imao je dobre karaktkeristike: ciljani domet lansiranja od 40 km i domet po visini od 20 km. Glavna prednost britanske poluaktivne radarsko navođene protivvazduhoplovne rakete bila je upotreba čvrstog goriva, što je olakšalo i pojeftinilo rad. Ovo je bilo značajno dostignuće, sovjetske protivvazduhoplovne rakete srednjeg i dugog dometa stvorene tih godina imale su mlazne motore na tečno gorivo koji su radili na toksično gorivo i agresivni oksidant. Krajem 1960-ih postignut je preliminarni dogovor o nabavci britanskog sistema PVO, a Britanci su nešto kasnije predali komplet opremu za pripremu jedinice, uključujući i trenažne protivvazduhoplovne rakete modifikacije Thunderbird Mk I, bez goriva i bojeve glave. Godine 1968. već je bila u toku proizvodnja poboljšanog modela Thunderbird Mk II, a britanska kompanija English Electric ozbiljno je računala na veliki ugovor. Međutim, u poslednjem trenutku Finci su odbili da kupe britanski sistem PVO. Iz kog razloga se to dogodilo, teško je pronaći prave odgovore. Možda se strane nisu složile oko cene. Trenutno su pojedinačni elementi sistema PVO Thunderbird Mk I izloženi u Muzeju protivvazduhoplovne odbrane u Tuusuli. Vežbovna raketa sistema PVO Electric Thunderbird Mk.
