Južno Korejski proizvođači naoružanja nastavljaju da napreduju na svim frontovima..Nakon novog oklopnog pešadiskog naoružanja, predstavljaju "familiju" T-50 Golden Eagle supersoničnih naprednih trenažnih i lakih lovačkih aviona....

Korea’s T-50 Spreads Its Wings

Korea’s defense industry is advancing on all fronts these days. On the armored vehicle front, vehicles like the XK2 tank and K9/K10 self propelled howitzer are beginning to win export orders, and its XK-21 amphibious infantry fighting vehicle may not be too far behind. All fill key market niches, promising performance at a comparatively inexpensive price. Its shipbuilding industry, one of the world’s busiest, is beginning to turn out LHDs, and December 2008 saw its first-of-class KDX-III AEGIS destroyer accepted into service on time and on budget. Now its aerospace industry is in flight with the already-exported KT-1 trainer/ light attack aircraft. Not to mention a clever entry into an incipient market.

Enter the T-50 Golden Eagle family, which offers a supersonic high-end trainer and light fighter aircraft at an attractive price. The aircraft is hitting the international market just as many of the world’s jet training fleets are reaching ages of 30 years or more, and high-end fighters are pricing themselves out of reach for many countries. The T/A-50 LIFT variant and F/A-50 lightweight fighter are especially attractive as lightweight export fighters, and the ROKAF’s own F-5E/F Tiger II and F-4 Phantom fighters are more than due for replacement.

Weapons export and corporate issues have now been resolved, and a contract to produce the F/A-50 is now underway. An order has also been placed for gatling guns, while Korean officials try to interest Poland in the aircraft…

Po svemu sudeći, prve mušterije za T-50 biće Turci, koji su bili prvi kupci za samohodne haubice K-9, i koji su inkorporirali neke elemente za tenk K-2 u projekat novog turskog tenka. T-50 će zameniti F-5E/F i T-38, koji se trenutno nalaze u sastavu RV Južne Koreje. Inače, odličan lead-in školski avion za buduće pilote F-16 Wink

T/A-50 Golden Eagle "leti" za Irak?


Irak je na putu da postane prvi uvoznik Južno Korejskih T/A-50 Golden Eagle familije supersoničnih Mlaznih trenažera i lakih lovačkih aviona. Iračani su uvereni da je T/A-50 dokaz da Južna Koreja raspolaže modernom tehnologijom međunarodnog standarda.

Iraq may be on track to become the first export customer for South Korea’s T-50 Golden Eagle family of supersonic jet trainers and lightweight fighters.

On Jan 15/09, Yonhap news agency and the World Tribune both filed reports concerning Iraqi Defense Minister Abdul-Qader al-Obeidi’s ongoing visit to South Korea. The minister was briefed concerning South Korea’s ongoing projects with Turkey, which include the K9/K10 Thunder mobile howitzer and the new XM2/Atlay main battle tank. Minister al-Obeidi also inspected the KAI/ Lockheed Martin T-50, and said that a defense expert in his entourage had recently test-flown the jet in Korea and expressed satisfaction. The Yonhap News Agency translation quotes him as saying that “The T-50 proved to us that South Korea has modern technology of an international standard.” Al-Obeidi added that more review would be required before the T-50 could be added to Iraq’s air force.

DJ Elliott of the Long War Journal says that the A-50 was suggested in fall 2007 to the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, by MNSTC-I’s Coalition Air Force Transition Team. Iraq’s pending trainer aircraft purchase appears to be Hawker Beechcraft’s T-6 Texan II, but a jet trainer is required as an interim step between the T-6 and more advanced planes like the F-16s that Iraq is seeking. They could also serve as an F-16 supplement. T/A-50s with their APG-67v4 radars, advanced Sidewinder missiles, and ability to carry precision guided weapons would effectively offer Iraq its first jet fighters. A T/A-50 would have to depend on superior situational awareness and piloting if confronted by Syrian or Iranian MiG-29s, but their induction would give Iraq qualitative parity or better versus many of the fighters currently flown by its semi-hostile neighbors: Syria’s MiG-21/ MiG-23/ Su-22s, and Iran’s F-4E/ F-5 variants/ F-7 MiG-21 variants. In a volatile region where hayba counts, those kinds of perceptions matter.

So, too, do personal ties. South Korea sent a 3,600-strong contingent to the northern Iraqi city of Irbil in September 2004 as part of the U.S.-led coalition, and a total of 18,000 South Korean troops served in rotation around northern Iraq until the end of their deployment in 2008. That work was apparently valuable in establishing ties, and the countries are now discussing ways to broaden their economic relationship as well as their defense relationship.

Filipinsko zrakoplovstvo čeka rezultate istrage pada T-50B

Filipinsko ratno zrakoplovstvo pomno prati istragu proizvođača zrakoplova T-50B koji se srušio prošlog tjedna u Južnoj Koreji prilikom čega su poginula dvojica pilota. Filipinsko zrakoplovstvo je zainteresirano za slučaj s obzirom da je ministarstvo obrane u pregovorima sa južnokorejskim proizvođačem zrakoplova KAI oko nabave desetak borbenih zrakoplova FA50, koji su rađeni na istoj platformi kao i T-50.

T-50B je prvi nadzvučni južnokorejski zrakoplov kojeg su razvili Korea Aerospace Industries i Lockheed Martin. Pad zrakoplova ovog tipa je drugi u nizu. Prvi se dogodio u studenom prošle godine kada se T-50 srušio u planinskom području prilikom čega je poginuo pilot aviona.

"Nedavni pad T-50B u Južnoj Koreji je još uvijek pod istragom južnokorejskog ratnog zrakoplovstva," izjavio je glasnogovornik filipinskog zrakoplovstva pukovnik Miguel Ernesto Okol. "Zbog planova o nabavi zrakoplova za potrebe filipinskog ratnog zrakoplovstva, razgovaramo sa proizvođačem koji mora riješiti sve probleme kako bi donijeli odluku o nastavku procesa nabave."

Koreanci su počeli proučavati mogućnost gradnje vlastitog školskog aviona (lagani jurišni) za napredno školovanje pilota  već u 1992.godini. Potporu su našli, prije svega, kod Lockheed Martinovog lovca F-16. Odma u početku je bio planiran T-50 kao avion za školovanje, A-50 kao laki jurišni avion. Njihove ambicije bile su, kao i  kod drugih proizvođača školskih dvosjedih  mlaznih aviona, uvođenje pilota za upravljanje budućih modernih aviona (F-22, rafale, JSF i sl.)

Projekt je nastao u udruženoj korejskoj avio industriji (Samsung, Hyundai, Daewoo Aerospace), veliki udio (13%)  imao je američki Lockheed Martin. U stvari večinski dio aviona bio je američki, jer su njihove kompanije proizvodile 55% sklopova, sistema i podsistema čitavog aviona. Strani partneri bili su Honeywell, Smiths Industries, Rockwell Collins, GEC-Marconi Avionics, Raytheon, Parker, Hamilton Standard, Messier-Dowtny i drugi.
Štedljivi i sistematični koreanci predvidjeli si početak proizvodnje na licenčnoj liniji lovaca F-16, kad  prestaje  proizvodnja tih aviona. Ubrzanu proizvodnju  usporila je kriza “azijskih tigrova” sredinom devetdesetih godina. Ponovno zeleno svijetlo dala je vlada Koreje 1997.godine, malo kasnije su Lockheed Martin i KAI (Korean Aerospace Industry) podpisali  ugovor o razvoju  projekta i proizvodnju KTX-2.
Avion je u realnoj veličini prikazan 1997.godine, kod projekta je sudjelovalo preko 500 stručnjaka.  2000.godine je projekt KTX-2 dobio naziv T-50/A-50 golden eagle. 2002. Godine je projekt dobio “krila”. Korea ih je odma naručila najmane  94, od toga barem polovina u školskoj verziji, ostalima su ugradili radare i oružane sustave. Plan je bio, da bi KAI u kasnijem razdoblju mogao prodati vlastitim zračnim snagama još barem 100kom tih aviona. Za strane kupce bi mogli isporučiti avione tek poslije 2006.godine. Najambiciozniji plan je proizvest imeđu 600 i 800kom  T-50/A-50.

Razvojni troško bili su oko dvije milijarde dolara.

SAD blokira prodaju južnokorejskih aviona T-50 u Uzbekistan

Sjedinjene Američke Države navodno blokiraju 400 milijuna USD vrijednu prodaju južnokorejskog aviona KAI T-50 Golden Eagle za Uzbekistan. Avion, koji je razvijen 2006. u suradnji sa Lockheed Martinom, koristi Lockheed Martin tehnologijem uključujući avioniku te kao takav zahtijeva dopuštenje izvoza u druge zemlje.

Korea Times, citirajući neimenovane izvore, kaže da je dopuštenje odbijeno. "KAI je u pregovorima s vladom Uzbekistana za prodaju nadzvučnog aviona za obuku, ali američka vlada se protivi poslu, navodeći mogućnost krađe tehnologije i vanjskopolitičke razloge", rekao je izvor.

Uzbekistan, koji se nalazi u središnjoj Aziji, bio je prethodno dio Sovjetskog Saveza. Član je Šangajske organizacije za suradnju čiji su ostali članovi Kina, Kazahstan, Kirgistan, Rusija i Tadžikistan.

"Kako Uzbekistan ima bliske veze s Rusijom, SAD je zabrinut kako bi izvoz T-50 u Uzbekistan mogao dovesti do prijenosa njegove tehnologije u Rusiju", rekao je vojni dužnosnik.

"Unatoč protivljenju SAD, južnokorejska DAPA će pojačati napore kako bi uvjerila Washington da odobri posao."

FA-50 sudjeluje danas u borbama protiv islamskih terorista na Filipinima, što će reći da je imao sada i prvo vatreno krštenje.
