Da budemo mala školica pored sličica. Za razliku od ravnog pramca atlantski pramac je izvijen u obliku V i u odnosu na palubu dignut, ima lagan uspon do početne točke pramca. Atlantski pramac pri posrtanju ima veči uzgon i poboljšava maritimna svojstva broda.
Pored boljih maritimnih osobina broda, smanjuje se i zaljevanje pramčane topovske kule.
Nijemci su slične preinake izvršili i na Graf Zeppelinu koji je originalno 1940g isto imao ravan pramac, a i Bizmark je prvotno imao ravni pramac koji je u toku gradnja izmijenjen u tzv atlantski pramac po iskustvima dvojice braće iz ovog topika. Ova je pokupljhena u jednom Kriegsmarine lotu pre par nedelja u Bubanj Potoku od tamnoputih gastosa

Da obnovimo gradivo... uprkos "konzervativnosti" ili cak zastarelosti i jednostavnosti resenja, oklopna zastita i Scharnhorsta i Bismarcka pokazala se u realnom boju izuzetno dobro. Glavni pojas Scharnhorsta bio je cak nesto malo deblji neko kod Bismarcka - 350:320mm. Bismarck je imao samo deblji gornji pojas - 145:45mm.
