Connecticut Air National Guardsmen with the 118th Airlift Squadron, perform a tribute flyover in a C-130H Hercules over hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout the state of Connecticut during a salute to healthcare workers as part of Operation American Resolve, May 14, 2020. The flyover was a way to say, "thank you" to those battling COVID-19 on the front lines.

Despite the challenges of COVID-19 members of the 36th Airlift Squadron, 459th Airlift Squadron, 374th Maintenance Group and the 353rd Special Operations Group came together to complete a 17 aircraft formation or an "Elephant Walk" as part of the Samurai Surge exercise.

When the order came to start measuring the C-130 Hercules in preparation for an aircraft carrier landing and launch test, engineers at the Naval Air Test Center thought someone must be joking. With a wingspan of 132-feet, few could imagine that the C-130 would be able to operate off of a flight deck only 1,017-feet long and approximately 250-feet wide. But the Department of the United States Navy needed to find out the feasibility of landing large planes on carriers for resource transportation. As U.S. carrier fleets were being deployed around the world to increasingly more remote locations, the existing supply logistics relying on the Grumman C-1 Trader were proving insufficient. Configured for carrier operations, the small twin-engine C-1 had comparatively limited range and payload capacity. To solve the problem, the Navy assembled a team of shocked pilots and engineers to figure out how to land a colossal C-130 on the supercarrier USS Forrestal. Given the considerable uncertainty around the experiment, plans were made to toss the aircraft overboard with a crane should it prove unable to take off again...

Aircrew members assigned to the 73rd Special Operations Squadron conduct a live-fire training mission in an AC-130J Ghostrider gunship above Eglin Range, Florida, Nov. 9, 2020. The 73rd SOS provided close air support to U.S. Army Rangers by firing 60 bursts of 105mm high-explosive rounds and 300 rounds of 30mm ammunition, ensuring Air Force Special Operations Command’s tip of the spear capability and presence.

Avion je prizemljen od prošlog leta. Uprkos popravkama, nema dokaza da je zaista u letnom stanju.

Danas su se u RAF-u oprostili od Herkulesa, avion ovog tipa obavio je poslednji let, urđene je i fotosešn zajedno sa njegovim naslednikom A400M "Atlas". Poslednji let C-130 nakon 56 godina aktivne službe u sastavu RAF-a.
