Održana ceremonija krštenja amfibijskog transportnog broda (LPD) klase San Antonio. Novi brod će nositi ime USS New York, a biće poznat po tome što je u njega ugradjeno oko 7.5 tona čelika iz srušenih "bliznakinja".

Kršten je uz tradicionalni šampanjac i takodje tradicionalnu rečenicu: "May God bless this ship and all who sail on her".

Očekuje se da USS New York udje u operativu u jesen 2009. godine.
