30.03.2010.

Tehnološki demonstrator (TD-1) indijskog projekta LCH (Light Combat Helicopter) je juče poleteo po prvi put. Tom prilikom je izvedeno lebdenje na visini od oko 20 metara i neki rutinski manevri pri maloj brzini kretanja. Prvi let je izveden uspešno. Ovo je bio jedan od nekoliko testova koji treba da potvrde sposobnost helikoptera da bezbedno poleti i sleti, a u sklopu priprema za prvi zvaničan let koji se očekuje tokom aprila.

The first Technology Demonstrator (TD-1) of India's Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) conducted an extended hover and slow-speed cyclic manoeuver routine yesterday at a height of a little over 20 metres. Everything went beautifully. TD-1 is not weaponised, and will be put through its full flight routines without a single weapon on board. Yesterday's flight was a confidence-building one in the run up to a formal first flight. Sources say there will be several such "confidence building" flights in the run up to the inaugural first flight in April. Wing Commander Unni Pillai piloted the LCH flight yesterday.

Sources confirmed to LiveFist, "Everything went beautifully. It was not a rigorous test, just to get the platform airborne and see how she held up in the air. Everything went fine. A degree of weight issues have been sorted out, but there is still some work to be done. That will be sorted out with TD-2 and TD-3. Now the focus is to validate the design and ensure it is a perfectly capable flying machine, which we of course know it is."

HAL has decided not to put out photos of videos of the flight, though it was , of course, photographed and videographed. Let's see what can be done!

Iako su predstavnici HAL-a rekli da neće biti fotografija sa ovog prvog leta, one su se ipak pojavile na LiveFist blogu zahvaljujući autoru tog bloga, novinaru Shivu Arooru koji pokriva vojne teme  u medijskoj kući Headlines Today:

Poletio indijski LCH

Prvi probni let tehnološkog demonstratora svog novog helikoptera uspješno je 29. ožujka obavio indijski proizvođač zrakoplovne tehnike tvrtka Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Prvi dvadesetminutni let obavljen je u sklopu HAL-ovog tvorničkog kruga u Bangaloreu. Riječ je o tehnološkom demonstratoru lakog borbenog helikoptera, koji zasad nosi naziv Light Combat Helicopter (LCH), i koji je sklopljen 4. veljače ove godine. To je dosad prvi indijski samostalni dizajn borbene inačice helikoptera, koja se na određeni način smatra derivatom dizajna lakog transportnog helikoptera Dhruv, koji je također razvio HAL u sklopu programa Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH).

Posadu LCH čine dva člana, smještena jedan iza drugoga. Pogonsku skupinu na LCH čine dva turbovratilna motora HAL/Turbomeca Shakti jakosti 900 kW (1 200 KS). Dužina helikoptera iznosi 15,8 m, dok je visina 4,7 m. Promjer glavnog rotora je 13,3 m. Težina praznog helikoptera iznosi 2 553 kg, dok bi maksimalna težina na polijetanju trebala biti 5 500 kg, uz mogućnost nošenja tereta do 2 950 kg. Očekuje se da bi krstareća brzina trebala biti 260 km/h, dok bi maksimalna brzina trebala biti u rasponu od 275 do 330 km/h. Dolet helikoptera trebao bi biti oko 700 km, maksimalni operativni vrhunac leta 6 400 m, dok bi brzina penjanja trebala biti 12 m/s. Od naoružanja LCH trebao bi nositi top M621 kalibra 20 mm smješten u tureli Nexter THL-20. Uz to, LCH će biti sposoban nositi nevođene raketa zrak - zemlja raznog kalibra, navođene projektile zrak - zrak i zrak - zemlja te razne bombe različitih kalibara.

Iako pojava svakog novog projekta poput ovog budi znatiželju, moje je okvirno mišljenje da je ovaj model primjereniji za panoramske letove nego za ozbiljnu borbenu uporabu. Djeluje glomazno, a stakala ko u priči. Bio sam u dilemi usporediti ga s rasadnikom bilja ili vitrinom ...

Kod Rujana je ostakljenje kombinacija spartanskog i mazohističkog (ako ne računamo A verziju Mi24), no vjerojatno u njemu posada ima neke šanse preživjeti ...

Zato u nazivu i stoji ono "Laki", trebalo bi da ima određenu zaštitu od pešadijskog naoružanja koja će biti ostvarena kroz pancirno staklo.

U tom slučaju s onoliko pancirnog stakla može samo voziti pistom, nema šanse da poleti. Pa i na Mi24 ima zafrkancije sa otvranjem pilotskih vratašca, postoji specijalna poluga koja pojačava momenat sile potrebite za otvaranje. Meni ipak sve izgleda malo pretanko.

Na aerosalonu Aero India koji je u toku, prikazan je i drugi prototip LCH, a najavljeno je da će uskoro poleteti i treći koji će odrediti i konačan izgled helikoptera pre ulaska u serijsku proizvodnju.
