X2 oborio svjetski rekord

Prototip helikoptera s koaksijalnim rotorom koji je dizajnirao Sikorsky pod oznakom X2 tijekom jednosatnog leta 15. rujna ove godine postigao je neslužbeni svjetski brzinski rekord. Naime, tijekom vodoravnog leta X2 je postigao brzinu od 462 km/h. Štoviše, tijekom tog leta u plitkom poniranju kratkotrajno je postignuta brzina od 481 km/h. Može se reći da je riječ o ispunjenju obećanja, što ga je Sikorsky dao u svibnju 2005. kada je krenuo u razvoj X2.

Helikopter X2 odlikuje mogućnost lebdenja, okomitog polijetanja i slijetanja, te prelaska iz lebdenja u progresivan let i obrnuto kao i klasičan helikopter, ali za postizanje velikih progresivnih brzina rabi se potisak propelera ili mlaznog motora bez potrebe za promjenom konfiguracije letjelice (kao npr. na V-22). Tvrtka Sikorsky odabrala je naziv X2 kako bi opisala helikopter s koaksijalnim rotorom (dva rotora) te kako bi se označila uporaba koaksijalnog rotora s novom tehnologijom. Ta nova tehnologija obuhvaća novi sustav upravljanja, novi način izrade lopatica nosećeg rotora koje će moći izdržati uvjete leta na velikim brzinama, te sustav koji će postupno preusmjeravati snagu pogonske skupine s nosećeg rotora na sustav propulzije i obrnuto.

I Eurocopter ima sličan projekat hibridnog helikoptera koji je predstavljen svega par dana nakon vesti o napretku programa X2, interesantno je da se Eurocopterov prototip zove X3 Smiley
Razlika je u tome što je prototip Sikorskog sličniji borbenom helikopteru, dok Eurocopterov prototip je transportni helikopter.

September 27: Eurocopter has begun test flights of its X3 High-speed, long-range Hybrid Helicopter (H3) concept, which is intended to cruise at speeds of more than 220kts.

The X3 demonstrator is equipped with two turboshaft engines that power a five-blade main rotor system and two propellers installed on short-span fixed wings. Eurocopter sees a wide range of roles for the concept including long-distance search and rescue (SAR) missions, coast guard duties, border patrol missions, passenger transport and inter-city shuttle services. It also may be well-suited for military missions in Special Forces operations, troop transport, combat SAR and medical evacuation.

The X3 demonstrator’s first flight was on September 6 in southern France at the Istres DGA Flight Testing Centre, operated by the French DGA government agency. Initial testing will continue through December with reduced power, progressively opening the flight envelope to speeds of approximately 180kts. After a three-month upgrade, X3 flights will resume in March 2011 with the goal of reaching sustained cruise speeds in excess of 220kts.

Hmmmm, nesto mi je veoma poznat ovaj princip, samo ne znam odakle.

Opet ovi pokvareni europljani kradu nase ideje.
