This cabriolet represents the alliance of luxury and performance, many stars having owned it, from Elvis Presley to the Prince Philip or the Duke of Edibourg.
The legend of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL comes largely from its competitive sporting record, having won dozens of major events, the most notable of which are the 24 Hours of Le Mans or the Carrera Panamericana 1952 won by the W194.
The Mercedes 300 SL was also, between 1955 and 1956, Italian Sports Car Champion, European Rally Champion, Liège-Rome-Liège winner, Adriatic Rally, Tulip Rally, Or Dolomites winner, second in the Tour de France car, winner of the rallies of the Acropolis, Sestriere or the Race of the Mont Ventoux. It will also be the Portugal champion of the 1957 rallies, the 1957-58 Grand Tour and the 1960 Grand Tour rally winner.
Produced by the German manufacturer of Stuttgart and created by the designer Friedrich Geiger, it is considered as the most emblematic Mercedes produced after the Second World War for its originality, its technical and aesthetic qualities.
