Title: RDV 117 & 118
Post by: iceman on November 22, 2011, 03:24:22 pm
Hello to all,
In May 1945 jugoslavian army entered in Monfalcone shipyard and freed it from nazist. The jugoslavian stayed in Monfalcone until June 1945 and when evacuating the shipyard took 1 F-lighter in fitting out for Germans (as F 1169) and 2 R-boote ex italian on slipway (as RDV 117 and 118). I think the F-lighter later entered in service in the Jugoslavian Navy but the 2 R-boote? anybody knows the fate? any picture? I attach 2 pictures of sister ships under italian flag.

Hi Iceman,

Maby they were used as patrol boats? What kind of a boat was F1169? If it was a torpedo boat it may be a TČ-4IV, captured and later used in Yugoslav navy.

Hello Motorista,
F 1169 actually was MFP 1169, a landing craft.
I think RDV 117 & 118 were used as patrol boat in Jugoslavian Navy but i cannot see any of them in the Almanac like Jane's Fighting Ships or similar so I was hoping somebody could help me to find the fate of these ships under Jugoslavian Flag....

Best Regards

MArco

Is this a MFP1169, or his class?

Yugoslav navy recived 7 of this ships as war reparations, and build another 35 in 3.maj shipyard in Rijeka, from 1950 till 1957.

Here you have a lot of photos of Yugoslav build ships, as original ones.

In Yugoslav navy they carried designation DTK-Desantni Tenkonosac ( Landing Craft Tank), and after refit DTM-Desantni Tenkonosac Minopolagač ( Landing Craft Tank Minelayer).
