Why did Yugoslavia get so little of the Austro-Hungarian Fleet after WWI?

The answer is quite simple. Italy was more powerful so she could dictate the conditions and, as enemy of new Yugoslav state, Italy did not miss any opportunity to act against Yugoslav interests. During negotiations in Versailles and Rapallo Italy demanded that SHS Kingdom should not have any military navy. Situation was very harsh as we discussed in topic about Rijeka and Istria.
Anyway, Yugoslavia got quite usable portion of Austro-Hungarian merchant fleet. For example, the core of "Jadranska plovidba" was "Ungaro-Croata" fleet.

Yugoslavia was and always will be (as an idea) something that's not in the best interest of the powerful nations.
"Paluba" is good example of it ...
