Albatros D III Oef.

Avion Albatros D III Oef. je jednomotorni lovački avion jednosed dvokrilac seskiplan. Trup je ovalnog preseka, drvene konstrukcije presvučen drvenom lepenkom, dok su krila presvučena platnom. Avion se pojavio kao odgovor na francuske lovce tipa njepor.

U Austro-Ugarskoj je avio proizvođen po licenci u fabrici „Oesterreichische Flugzeugfabrik A.G.“. Glavna razlika, u odnosu na nemačke Albatrose je bila ugradnja jačih motora firme Austro-Daimler (BA 18000 od 185 KS, BA 19000 od 200/210 KS i BA 23000 od 225 KS), zbog karakteristika alpskog fronta prema italiji,gde su avioni leteli na većoj nadmorskoj visini.

Posle prvog svetskog rata u VV kraljevine SHS korišćeno je, prema različitim izvorima, 7 do 18 aviona ovog tipa. Početkom dvadesetih su ovi avioni povučeni iz borbene upotrebe i završili su svoju karijeru kao školski aparati.

Po okončanju I Svetskog rata, VKSHS je koristilo najmanje sedam trofejnih "De-draj" serije Ba.253 (Oef), preuzetih iz arsenala Vazduhoplovstva K.u.K. Monarhije. Osim njih zaplenjena su i najmanje dva neispravna Ba.53.2 (Oef) (od kojih je jedan najverovatnije osposobljen) i veći broj nekompletnih aviona i motora, uključujući i 8 potpuno novih trupova serije Ba.253 (Oef). 1925. u Rogožarskom je izrađeno devet pari krila čime je omogućeno aktiviranje osam nekompletnih i jednog havarisanog aviona serije Ba.253.

Avion iz serije Ba.53.2 bio je pogonjen motorom Austro-Daimler AD6 snage 185 KS. Varijantu Ba.253 je pokretao motor Austro-Daimler AD6 snage 225 KS, ali su na bar tri aviona početkom dvadesetih ugrađeni motori Hiero Type H IV snage 230 KS, a na nekima polovinom dvadesetih slabiji motori Austro-Daimler AD6 snage 200 i 185 KS. "De-draj" se zadržao u upotrebi do kraja dvadesetih, zadnjih godnina korišćen je isključivo u školskim jedinicama.

Fotografija (iz arhiva MJRV) objavljena u knjizi "Kraljevsko Vazduhoplovstvo 1918-1944" grupe autora (Dimitrijević, Miladinović, Micevski).

Deo aviona i ljudstva iz eskadrile u Zagrebu angažovan je sa letilišta u Koprivnici prateći događaje ka Mađarskoj granici od sredine maja 1919. godine. Na fotografiji avion Albatros D. III (256.163) na letilištu Koprivnica, u periodu maj-jun 1919. godine. Pilot ispred aviona je narednik Nikola Sekulić.
