Yanukovych Approves Amnesty Law, Abolition Of January 16 Laws By Rada (15:36, Friday, January 31, 2014)

President Viktor Yanukovych has approved the law on amnesty and the repeal of the Verkhovna Rada laws endorsed on January 16, presidential press service has said.
The President approved that law passed by the Verkhovna Rada on January 29 and obliging law enforcement officers to release all anti-government protesters detained since December 26, 2013 from criminal responsibility once all administrative buildings will be freed.
Besides, in compliance with this law, during the period of 15 days, anti-government protesters will have to leave buildings of local governments, executive authorities, and unblock Hrushevskoho Street in Kyiv.
Yanukovych also approved the repeal of the law on enhancement of judges' guarantees and other eight laws endorsed on January 16 with the who-of-hand vote.
Moreover, Yanukovych approved four repeatedly endorsed draft laws, in particular, on suspension of establishment of centers for free secondary legal assistance to the low-income people and people having privileges until 2015; on criminal responsibility for desecration or destruction of monuments to soviet soldiers; partisans; on responsibility for public denial or justification of Nazi crimes.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on January 28, the Verkhovna Rada repealed the law on enhancement of guarantees of judges and other eight laws passed with show-of-hand vote.
