UN contradicts Ethiopian PM's claim that most Ethiopian refugees in Sudan are young men

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees ( UNHCR ) yesterday contradicted Ethiopian Prime Minister's claim that most of Ethiopian refugees in Sudan are young men. Last week Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmad, in his address to Ethiopian Parliament, claimed that most of Ethiopian refugees in Sudan were young men. He implied that Tigray fighters, in the garb of refugees, were crossing into Sudan. Yesterday UNHCR released a video showing the plight of Ethiopian refugees in Sudan. In the video, UNHCR told that nearly half of Ethiopian refugees in Sudan were children. Meanwhile fighting between Ethiopian National Defense Forces ( ENDF ) and Tigray Defense Forces ( TDF ) goes on without any let up in many part of troubled Tigray region of Ethiopia.

Tigray leader Debretsion Gebremichael arrested, claim ENDF supporters

Tigray leader Debretsion Gebremichael has been arrested by Ethiopian government force, claim supporters of Ethiopian forces. So far officially no statement has been issued by Ethiopian government regarding the arrest or otherwise of Tigray President Debretsion Gebremichael. If the news is confirmed that Tigray President Debretsion Gebremichael  has been arrested, it would a huge blow to Tigray forces. Rumors about the arrest of Tigray government spokesperson Getachew Reda are also circulating.
