Chinese Communist Party's 'sabre-rattling smacks of desperation'

The Chinese Communist Party's latest piece in the Global Times "smacks of desperation" because they are "realising" they have no more "leverage" over democratic countries in the Indo-Pacific, according to Director of the Epoch Times Daniel Teng.

"From our perspective there is a lot of sabre-rattling and that's because the Chinese Communist Party is, I mean, this latest editorial from the Global Times does smack of desperation to be honest," he told Sky News host Paul Murray.

"I think it's because they're realising now that they can't control or they have no more levers against democratic countries - particularly in the Indo-Pacific region.

"And Australia this last two or three years has pursued a very independent foreign policy that isn't tied in closely with the Chinese Communist Party - and the CCP leadership really doesn't like that."

Mi sluzimo samo da nas muzu. Daju nam malo sena a pokupe mleko i kajmak.

I sad Amerikanci i ostali zapadnjaci su se usrali.

Communist China has forced Australia off the ‘narcotic of trade dependency’

The Chinese Communist Party has forced Australia to get off the “narcotic of trade dependency” of Beijing, according to author Peter Hartcher.

Mr Hartcher said Australia has “fumbled and bumbled” to the current stage of its relationship with China which took a negative turn in 2020 with multiple trade embargoes and diplomatic tensions.

“That’s not a bad thing because where we were before was essentially tolerating the Chinese Communist Party’s long running intrusions into our sovereignty,” he said.

“The Chinese government, helpfully unhelpfully, is forcing Australia to get off the narcotic of trade dependency on a China whose intentions towards us are essentially hostile.”

'Very little' Australia can do to respond to China without multi-lateral support

There is very little Australia alone can do to respond to China’s actions which is why it needs to operate multi-laterally with its allies to respond, according to Independent Senator Rex Patrick.

“There’s very little that Australia can do,” he said.

“In all responses to China we need to work multi-laterally, we need to work with our friends in Asia, the United States, in Europe to respond to what’s happening – and there is some hope that is starting to happen.”

'There is no end to this Chinese expansionism'

Talks of encirclement in Australia can't be far off as China's expansion has grown since Biden became president of the United States, according to Sky News host Alan Jones.

"There is no end to this Chinese expansionism," Mr Jones said.

"China today, under the Biden Presidency, are the length of the Flemington strait ahead of America.

'Little old Australia stuck down here. The day can't be far away when we talk of encirclement."
