The French Ministry of Defense has announced the successful test launch of the M51 intercontinental ballistic missile. This ICBM is to replace the M45 missiles, which are now based on nuclear submarines such as Le Triomphant, according to the portal Naval News. The launch did not take place from a submarine, but from a ground-based launcher located at a French army missile range in the southwestern part of the country. The M51 missile used for the test launch had no warhead, the final point of its flight was the area in the North Atlantic.
