Pre par dana kineska nacionalna televizija CCTV je objavila prilog o navalizovanoj verziji J-10AH. Da ne bude zabune, ovo nije palubna verzija aviona, već verzija namenjena kineskoj RM za kontrolu kineskih teritorijalnih voda sa kopnenih baza. Iako razlike u odnosu na standardni J-10A nisu poznate, može se pretpostaviti da su novi avioni opremljeni protivbrodskim raketama, a sa snimka se vidi i da imaju mogućnost dopune gorivom u vazduhu čime im se značajno povećava radijus dejstva.

- Mislim da  ove slike test aviona J-10B nije bilo. Ličnog sam mišljenja da još dugo vremena neće proteći do serijske proizvodnje J-10B i istog izbaciti u sam vrh svetskih multirol aviona. Mudro ćute i znalački rade. Takođe me uopšte nebi iznenadilo da J-10B bude predmet svetske potražnje i mnogim trenutno poznatim multirol avionima uzme značajan devizni kolač. Znanje, neumorni istraživački rad, novac i faktor vreme ..., sve je na strani kineza.
