Link o primeni nove generacije naoružanja tokom libijskih ratnih dešavanja. Tretira se prvo primenjeno dejstvo A2ESM - AASM proizvođača SAGEM o uništenju libijskih tenkova sa distance od 55 kimolematara. Takođe krstarećom raketom SCALP sa velike udaljenosti tokom gađanja libijskog aerodroma uništen je Soko-G2 na stajanci po francuskim navodima. Malo mi je teško da poverujem da su sa daljine od 55km mogli da obeleže laserom tenk, pre bih rekao da su znali za tu poziciju na osnovu osmatranja drugim sredstvima i da su gađali tom raketom uz pomoć GPS navigacije. Ili su koristili lasersko obeležavanje pomoću druge letelice koja je morala biti u zoni dejstva PVO.

Bivši iskusni vođa akro grupe Red Arrows Peter Collins, letevši na Rafalu kao pilot rekao je za isti : “war-fighter par excellence”. Link koji poredivši Dassault Rafala sa ostalim svetskim multirol avionima isti stavlja u sam vrh, rame uz rame sa J-22 Raptorom koji je stealth 5. generacije. Jedina mana ovom vrhunskom multirolu u samom svetskom vrhu, ako ne i na vrhu generacije 4++ je velika prodajna cena od 70 miliona evra. Međutim gledajući kvalitet izrade, savremeni aerodizajn, vrhunske letne karakteristike i najsavremenenija dostignuća primenjene avio-elektronike, mogućnost nošenja i dejstva velike lepeze namodernijeg naoražanja današnjice, direktno ga poredivši sa konkurentima realno i opravdava toliki iznos. Aeroprofilom nespada u stealth avione a opet mu primenjena elektronika omogućuje postizanje stealth karakteristika. Mnogi avio stručnjaci dovode ga tik uz rame sa F-22 Raptorom, generacijski neuporedivo mlađim, 5. generacije, rađen u startu kao stealth sa opcijom supercruise a opet Dassault Rafale primenjenim modernim rešenjima kompenzuje ovaj manjak "nevidljivosti". Decembra prošle godine francuska firma SAFRAN groups je objavila prvo uspešno lansiranje AASM Sagem raketa sa infracrvenim-termalnim navođenjem na tačkaste ciljeva dometa, koji po navodu prelaze 50 Km. The test was carried out by French armed forces using a Rafale multirole fighter deployed at the DGA’s missile test center in Biscarosse, southwest France. The weapon was launched at a range of more than 50 km from the target, with a vertical terminal trajectory. Operating at night, the AASM’s infrared imager identified its target several seconds before impact, and its image processing algorithms enabled it to hit the target within one meter. This successful test reflects the AASM’s ability to carry out precision strikes to within one meter, day or night, and also confirms the ability of the AASM family to meet the operational requirements of air forces in the export market. The AASM weapon family, developed and produced by Sagem, comprises a guidance kit and range augmentation kit fitted to existing bombs. Offering a range exceeding 50 km, and capable of being fired off-axis in relation to the target, day or night and under all weather conditions, even at low altitude, the AASM features high precision and terminal trajectories perfectly adapted to all types of targets. Izleda da je napokon po najsvežijim vestima, utakmica za indijski novi multirol pred epilogom. Indijski ministar odbrane je pozvao predstavnike Dassault Rafael i Eurofighera na konačni brifing i odluku, čime su eliminisani ostali takmaci iz tendera. Eurofighter je izložio samo mock-up tj. viđenje navy koncepta Eurofightera sa vektorisanim potiskom, dok Dassault Rafale te muke nema. Koja će odluka biti znaće se brzo.
